Vehicle licence renewals

Renew your vehicle licence on WhatsApp or through an agent, and we deliver your new licence disc direct to your door. Opt in to our free reminder service and you will never miss a renewal again.

What happens

  1. Message us on WhatsApp or talk to our assistant.
  2. Give us your details. The Department needs your ID number to find your correct vehicle licence renewal information.
  3. Pay by Visa, Mastercard, Diners or American Express through Payfast, or by bank transfer. Accounts are settled in full before delivery.
  4. Your new disc is delivered to your door, or you collect it from Meyersdal, Newmarket, Glenvista or Boksburg.

What to have ready

  • Your South African ID number
  • Your phone number and email address
  • A delivery address. A work address is preferred
  • Payment in full before delivery

Requests are processed within 5 to 7 working days, subject to availability and receipt of payment.

Driver's licence renewals

Please note: we are not currently accepting new driver's licence renewal applications. The Department of Transport's only licence card printer, which resumed operation in May 2025, is experiencing ongoing technical issues and operating at significantly reduced capacity. With a backlog of more than half a million cards, turnaround times are expected to run to several months. We will resume taking applications once printing stabilises and the backlog is substantially cleared.

Change of ownership

Bought or sold a vehicle? We assist with any change to the owner or titleholder details of the vehicle. The change must be communicated to the registering authority within 21 days.

Do you have outstanding fines? We offer a full fine management solution, which includes fine payments, re-direction of fines and negotiation of fine settlements.

Fine status can change daily. A fine that becomes an enforcement order will block your licence disc.
